Get to Know Dr. Daniel McMaster
Dr. McMaster was born in Utah, but was raised in Beaverton, OR. Dr. McMaster was originally attracted to the fields of accounting and science, initially choosing a business major when he began attending Portland State University. However, he was drawn to the field of dentistry and switched his undergraduate major before going on to receive his dental degree from the Oregon Health and Science University School of Dentistry.
After graduating, Dr. McMaster spent a few years working in public health, but became frustrated by his inability to provide the comprehensive solutions his patients needed. This led him to open up his own dental practice where he could pursue his own unique vision of dentistry.
At Sheldon Park Dental, Dr. McMaster’s goal is to treat each patient who walks through our door with the care, patience, and understanding they deserve. As a dentist, his primary goal is to restore teeth and smiles, never to judge patients or make them feel uncomfortable. His patient-first approach combined with our investments in dental technology lead to a truly excellent patient experience.
When he’s not hard at work at our office, Dr. McMaster’s wife and three children keep him quite busy. He loves spending time with his family and friends. When he has some free time, Dr. McMaster loves staying active by shooting hoops, golfing, and working out at the gym. He also loves listening to audiobooks and playing strategy games.

What To Expect From Your Visit
When you enter our office, you’ll check in with our front desk team. Then, you can relax in our newly remodeled waiting area while you wait for your appointment. When it’s time for your visit, one of our team members will bring you back to one of our operating rooms.
Then, you’ll meet your doctor, and they'll perform a comprehensive oral exam, complete with X-rays of your mouth. This ensures that they can look below the surface and check for failing dental work, common oral health issues, and more.
After this, your doctor will discuss his findings with you, and any additional treatments you may need for a healthy smile. Then, one of our hygienists will take over. They will scale, polish, and floss your teeth. This removes plaque and tartar buildup and keeps your smile smooth, bright, and shiny.
Finally, you’ll check in with our front desk once more before you leave. You can schedule your next checkup or any other necessary follow-ups. Then, you’ll be all done!
